Overview

If you’re in Milford, CT, and craving authentic Peruvian flavors, Pollo a la Brasa Pikkos Peruvian Cuisine is a spot worth discovering. Located conveniently on Bridgeport Avenue, this takeout-only restaurant delivers a vibrant taste of Peru with a focus on their signature rotisserie chicken and traditional dishes.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly the Pollo a la Brasa, a juicy, well-seasoned rotisserie chicken praised repeatedly by locals. It’s perfectly paired with their crispy fries and a side of ají sauce, creating a simple yet deeply satisfying meal. The chicken's moist texture and bold, savory marinade make it stand out among other Peruvian chicken spots in the area.

Beyond the chicken, the menu offers an eclectic mix of classic Peruvian dishes. The Lomo Saltado is a crowd favorite, featuring sirloin strips sautéed with onions and tomatoes, typically served over French fries with rice and plantains. Some guests find it authentic and flavorful, while others have noted a heavier hand with soy sauce compared to traditional expectations. The assortment of ceviches and chifa (Peruvian-Chinese fusion) dishes like Arroz Chaufa and Tallarín Saltado enrich the culinary experience, providing options that showcase Peru’s diverse food culture.

Service at Pollo a la Brasa Pikkos complements the food with warmth and friendliness, creating a welcoming atmosphere despite its limited space for dining. Since it operates primarily as takeout, it caters well to individuals, small groups, or families looking to enjoy Peruvian cuisine in their own homes rather than a sit-down environment.

For newcomers to Peruvian cuisine, the restaurant offers unique beverages such as purple corn Chicha Morada, a pleasantly sweet traditional drink that adds to the authentic vibe. The staff’s knowledge and eagerness to guide diners contribute positively to the experience, making the unfamiliar approachable and inviting.

While some customers have mentioned small container sizes for sauces and minor room for improvement in portion handling, the overall quality of food and flavor profile delivers a satisfying and memorable taste of Peru. This place is ideal for those seeking bold, homemade flavors, especially lovers of rotisserie chicken and Peruvian classics, all within a casual, takeout-friendly setting.

First of all I've been buying ever since they opened about almost a year now and their chicken is great compared to other places we have tried. Today, we ordered a whole chicken and paid for 2 extra sauces for everyone. The containers are really small and it's 3 small packages for 2 dollars, and they are not even filled up all the way. Another thing is that with the whole chicken, we got 2 sauces (unpaid for) I'm willing to pay but in this occasion but I would suggest this change in how they handle this.

For starters, the pollo a la brasa carried this rating. A great tasting and juicy chicken. Paired with the signature fries and ají. Can’t go wrong. The lomo was ehhh. Too much Soy Sauce? Idk. It just wasn’t the lomo I grew up with. I wouldn’t get it again. Same with the arroz chaufa. The tallarín saltado was solid. I’d definitely get it again. Overall a good experience but I’d only go for the Pollo mainly. Also no seating, take out only so don’t show up with your entire family expecting to sit down.

This was my first time eating here as well as trying Peruvian cuisine. The purple corn chicha morada was so good! It’s unlike any other drink I’ve ever had! Also, I had the rotisserie chicken and roasted potatoes it was so delicious! The chicken is moist it had an amazing flavor that you can taste throughout the chicken. The potatoes were very flavorful as well! Edwin at the front counter was very nice, friendly, and informative. Would come back again and would recommend.

SUBSCRIBE TO MY YOUTUBE AND TIKTOK ABORICUALIFEINUSA. I ordered through Uber eats. The chicken was juicy and tasty. The rice was good but it needed more color. Sauces were delicious. And the salad was a nice touch.
